Glossary FAQ
Quick answers about using the glossary and interpreting common device, network, and advertising terms.
1
What is the DuoPlus Glossary?
It is a reference library for device environments, browser and device fingerprints, proxies, network security, advertising metrics, automation, social media, and cross-border e-commerce terminology. Each page is intended to answer an information query before discussing any product context.
2
How can I find a term if I only know its abbreviation or alias?
Use the search box at the top of the page. It searches titles, descriptions, abbreviations, keywords, and common aliases. You can also narrow the directory by topic or use the A–Z navigation.
3
What is the difference between a proxy and a VPN?
Both can route traffic through another network endpoint, but they differ in scope, protocols, encryption, and configuration. Neither one automatically changes cookies, browser settings, or a device fingerprint.
4
Does changing an IP address also change a device fingerprint?
No. An IP address is a network identifier, while a device or browser fingerprint is assembled from multiple software, hardware, and configuration signals. Changing one signal does not replace the others.
5
How are CTR, CPC, CPM, ROAS, and ROI related?
CTR measures clicks relative to impressions, CPC measures cost per click, and CPM measures cost per thousand impressions. ROAS compares attributed advertising revenue with ad spend, while ROI uses net gain and a broader cost scope. They should be interpreted together rather than optimized in isolation.
6
Are glossary definitions the same as product recommendations?
No. Definitions explain a concept and its limitations. A DuoPlus use case is included only when the product has a direct, relevant relationship to the term, and it does not replace independent evaluation.
7
How often are glossary entries updated?
The last-updated field records the latest editorial review. Platform policies and advertising products require more frequent review than stable protocols or basic formulas, so update schedules vary by topic.
8
Can a glossary entry guarantee account safety or platform compliance?
No. Technical separation can reduce some forms of accidental data mixing, but no device, proxy, workflow, or definition can guarantee that an account will avoid review or restrictions. Users must follow applicable laws and each platform's current policies.
